Missions Publiques receives a 2019 NGI Award

The NGI Awards, a European Commission initiative, seek to reward individuals and organizations that help shape Digital Europe. Each year, nine winners are selected by a jury of European experts in three categories: Research, Culture and Start-ups.

Missions Publiques won the 2019 award for Culture with its We, the Internet project, which gets the world’s citizens involved in Internet governance. In 2019, several thousand people in around 100 countries will spend a day debating the topic. They will be joined online by tens of thousands of Internet users who will also join in the debate after consulting the same training resources.

After these debates, Missions Publiques will publish a report identifying the needs and demands of the world’s citizens. This report will then be submitted to the stakeholders that make up the debate ecosystem. They will use it to fuel their strategies and decision-making processes – which will thus take on-board the citizens’ aspirations.
