In France, the overhaul of the pension system is being steered by the High Commissioner for Pension Reform, Jean-Paul Delevoye. The entire population will be affected so eight debates were held in various regions across the country giving people the chance to set out their questions, wishes and red lines and thus contribute to the reform.
A citizens’ panel, organized with the Interministerial Directorate of Public Transformation (DITP), explored the issue of trust in the pension system.
The results, together with those from an online consultation and some recent opinion polls, were discussed on December 10 last year, and will contribute to the next stage of dialogue between the High Commissioner and his team and the social partners, to be held in the first half of 2019.
